"Bare Feet" lyrics

SIDEWALK LYRICS

"Bare Feet"

There was once this kid that I knew,
He used to be positive, he used to be old school.
But sadly for him did the time pay its price.
Now he’s deprived.
By his own lies,
He didn’t listen to advice, and let his dealer roll his dice!

His grip on his life was gone!
And he knew it seemed lost, but he held on.
Everyone deserves a fresh start.
And he remembered, cold hands, warm heart!

I told the kid to do better than this, I called him to mind.
A life of abuse, all the drugs that he used.
And the friends that he lost.
He told me he tried but failed over again,
But remain and restrain won’t drain away his pain!

His grip on his life was gone!
And he knew it seemed lost, but he held on.
Everyone deserves a fresh start.
And he remembered, cold hands, warm heart!

I helped him get rid of his bad habits.
To live a better life.
He never thanked me, I was okay with that.
Until I found him in the alley where he once sat.

Back to the start,
Forgot what I thought
And left him for dead,
In the alley he sat!

His grip on his life is now gone!
And I know it’s all lost but I held on!
Everyone deserves one fresh start!
And I remember his cold hands, on my warm heart.

Cold hands! Warm heart!
